A 'Social Tribute' to Mahatma Gandhi on his 65th Death Anniversary:

I am fortunate one to be a part of this Social Media Cell. Social Media cell of Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has paid a rich tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his 65th Death Anniversary, in a unique way via its presence on various social media platforms.
  • The collection of rare photographs of Gandhiji was acquired from the Archives of Photo Division and PIB Photo Library. The photos such as,

Gandhi’s Birth location, home, study room, school, classroom, his prized possessions, meeting with Viceroy, Visit to AIR to broadcast a message to Refugees, warning journalists against taking a photograph, dignitaries paying tribute to Gandhi etc. are used.
Ø  The look and feel of facebook and Twitter is designed accordingly to reflect the mood.
Ø  The video of the rare photographs with a background song of “ Vaishnav Jante, Tene kahiye…” is prepared for youtube and shared on various other platforms of the Social Media.

Ø  The album consisting of rare photographs is uploaded on facebook and shared on various accounts.
Ø  Facebook cover with Mahatma Gandhi Image and quote is prepared.
Twitter:
Ø  Tweets with quotations of Mahatma Gandhi
Ø  Tweets with linkages of other Social Media Platforms.
Ø  Tweets on rare photographs
Ø  Mahatma Gandhi is one of the top ten trends on Twitter.
Youtube:
Ø  Pre independence Speeches of Mahatma Gandhi
Ø  Video of rare photographs prepared by Social Media Cell of the Ministry.
 Blog:
Ø  Rare letters to Mahatma Gandhi collected from Photo Division (Leo Tolstoi letter to Gandhi) are uploaded.
